Crane dance at Lake Hornborga

Every spring, more than 10 000 cranes rest at Lake Hornborga. Most of them spend the winter in Extremadura in southern Spain. They begin in returning to Lake Hornborga in mid-March.

Lake Hornborga

Varnhem Abbey

The Varnhem Abbey complex consists of the church, monastery ruins, abbey museum and herb garden. After your visit we recommend coffee and home-made cakes or a bowl of soup at the Café at the Abbey just across from the church.
