Welcome to Håverud & Upperud

No visit to Mellerud is complete before you have visited the area around Håverud and Upperud. Here you will find Dalsland's well-known aqueduct, Dalsland's destination center and Dalsland's art museum. All surrounded by a beautiful environment and magnificent nature.

Take the tour around Lake Upperudshöljen. Visit the locks, the aqueduct and Dalslands Center. Then on to Upperud's historical environments with the lock station, Upperud 9:9's characteristic silo and Dalsland's art museum with its café.

The aqueduct in Håverud

A crazy idea that came true. The aqueduct and the lock stairs in Håverud is one of Dalsland's most visited sights and a fine piece of history.

Visit Dalsland Center

The destination center in Håverud. Botanize in the shop, visit the food market with locally produced products or hang out at the campsite. Lots of exhibitions, events during the summer.

The Canal museum

Welcome to experience the history of the Dalsland Canal. Old environments have been built. Collections from past times when the ironworks, sawmills, shipyards, brick and paper mills thrived.

Tour boats at the Dalsland canal

Two beautiful tour boats travel the Dalsland canal between Håverud and Bengtsfors during the summer. Book a ticket and experience the aqueduct, the locks and beautiful nature.

Patriks Antik

Antique shop at Dalsland Center in Håverud that is filled with antiques, retro and curiosities. The antiques expert and collector Patrik has created an exciting shop that is open during the summers.

Ramslökedalen

The Ramslökedalen nature reserve offers the visitor fantastic nature with mighty mountain slopes. In the reserve, ramson grows in large quantities and it has named the area . Look for woodpeckers!

Dalslands konstmuseum

The Dalsland's art museum with sculpture park and café. The museum shows a permanent collection and a number of different exhibitions of contemporary art.

Upperud Lock station

One of the most beautiful lock stations along the Dalsland Canal. Dalsland's canal head office are located here. During the summer, the old lake magazine offers both a museum and coffee.

Restaurants & cafés

Håfveruds Rökeri & Brasseri

Right at the edge of Dalsland's Canal at the famous Aqueduct with nice outdoor seating by the water. They specialize in freshly smoked fish, but have a wide menu.

Håfveruds café

Serves coffee, cakes, sandwiches and ice cream inside Dalslands centre. Outdoor seating on the terrace with a view over the rapids.

The Visitor Restaurang & Café

At the main car park you will find a restaurant with pizza, sushi and Thai. The Café is located by the large bridge over the Dalsland canal. There they serve coffee, ice cream and waffles.

Café Bonaparte

The café by Dalsland's art museum in a building that used to be a working hotel, built around 1830. On the fine glass veranda, the guest has a fantastic view of lake Spången.

Upperud 9:9
