Restaurant Telegrafen
Grebbestad

Local food in a building with history

Cosy restaurant in the heart of Grebbestad, serving well-made traditional Swedish fare and á la carte, both meat and fish.

Cosy restaurant in the heart of Grebbestad, serving well-made traditional Swedish fare and á la carte, both meat and fish. Special menu at Easter, plus Christmas buffet and lobster menu. Since 2002, you'll find the Restaurang Telegrafen in what once used to be a telegraph station in Grebbestad, Bohuslän, on the north west-coast of Sweden.

Simple and personal food, wine and interior

The restaurant's interior is simple and personal; it consists to a great extent of the chef's own art work, stuff, and memorandi collected from different places and countries during a lifetime. The tables and the wall mounted couch is made in the chef's own hand, from an oak tree that used to grow in the lush and deep forests of Lur. Every now and then the walls of the restaurant - and other parts of it too if so needed - are transformed into an arena for different contemporary art projects. And what about the food? Well. The food is like the restaurant's interior, easy, gentle, artless yet distinct. The idea is locally produced ingredients and authentic, genuine food, made from scratch. This also goes for the wine. The assortment of natural wine is under constant development, now consisting of 30 fine, different kinds.
