The first Monday after September 20th at 7 am is when the highlight of the autumn begins: the lobster fishing season! The premiere is a special event when the boats all go out in the morning fog and try to find the best spots to fish for the lobsters. If you are out early you will have time for a morning coffee before 7 am when the lobster cages are thrown in the sea.
During the premiere week the communities come to life and the restaurants offer lobster suppers. Visitors have the opportunity to be a part of the lobster fishing. If you don't have time to do this during the premiere week you still have plenty of opportunities, the lobster season goes on until April. Along the coast you can find plenty of great lobster fishing package deals during autumn and spring.
How about lobster fishing, shellfish buffet, and a relaxing spa weekend in October? Or traditional lobster fishing in a wooden boat followed by lobster supper in a traditional boathouse? Why not experience lobster fishing like the locals on an all-day trip with a friend or on your own, in the company of a local fisherman? Regardless of your choice, you will not be disappointed.
