Accommodation and Conferences in a Castle Setting

Overlooking the entire town of Tidaholm and surrounded by breathtaking nature, Helliden Castle stands grandly in gleaming white. Here, they offer a hostel, conference facilities, and a folk high school.

Accommodation Surrounded by Stunning Nature

The bright rooms at Helliden Castle and Hostel offer views of the garden and have either shared or private bathrooms. Each room features a seating area and a desk, as well as access to a shared kitchen. In the main building, which dates back to the 1890s, there is a common room with board games, video games, and books. Dogs are allowed but must be pre-announced in your reservation. Hellidsberget's exercise and skiing trails are just a few hundred meters away, and Tidaholm city center is approximately 1.5 km away.

Conferencing in a Castle Environment

Do you want to host a conference in a castle setting? A place that combines natural beauty with vibrant activity? Helliden Castle offers both peace and tranquility as well as a lively creativity.
Stay comfortably, dine well, and work undisturbed in the conference center or one of the castle halls.

Helliden Castle and Its History

On the western slope of Hellidsberget, with sweeping views of Tidaholm, Baron Hans Henrik von Essen built a manor house in 1858. This is the foundation of what is now Helliden Folk High School.
A residential collage for adult education.
Alfred von Essen succeeded his father as the lord of Helliden and expanded the manor into a castle of roughly the appearance and size it has today. The architect was Helgo Zettervall.
In 1951, the Blue Ribbon Movement (Blåbandsrörelsen) purchased Helliden Castle for SEK 80,000 to establish a folk high school.
