Saga Theater & Cinema
Tidaholm

Enjoy movies, theater, concerts, dance performances, and lectures

Saga was built in 1917 in a typical architectural style of that era. The building is a beautiful feature of Tidaholm's cityscape and hosts a wide range of activities and events.

Saga serves various purposes. You can watch movies, enjoy theater performances, attend concerts, dance shows, and lectures here. The cinema is owned by the municipality of Tidaholm and is rented out to associations, businesses, and individuals.

Movies

The cinema's screening room is fully digital and also shows films in 3D. When major movies are released, they often premiere at Saga. "Bio för daglediga" (Cinema for Daytime Visitors) and "Filmserien" (The Film Series) are examples of regular events. "Höstlovsbio" (Autumn Break Cinema) and "Sportlovsbio" (Sports Break Cinema) are popular among children and teenagers.

Theater

The large stage is ideal for theater productions. The National Theater Association brings performances to this venue, and local ensembles also stage theater productions at Saga.
An annual highlight is the Labbås Theater Revue, which offers joy, dance, and song every spring.

History

The building was constructed in 1917, and the Tidaholm Cinema and Theater Corporation was registered. From the 1940s to the 1960s, the theater played a significant role in the county's theater scene. In the 1970s, the municipality of Tidaholm acquired the building. Several renovations and modifications have taken place over the years.
