Vargarda is a classic destination for cycling in Sweden. The "Fåglum brothers" from Vårgårda were top cyclists in the 1960'ies, with medals in both the Olympics and in the World Championships.

Vårgårda was also one of the stops on the womens world tour during many years. Nowadays, the cycling in and around Vårgårda is of a more leisurable kind. The area offers both asphalt, gravel and paths well-suited for all kinds of cycling.

Ljungleden regional cycle route

Ljungleden is 170 km long and takes you from Gothenburg to Falköping, via Vårgårda. The route takes you through all kinds of landscapes, from deep forests to farmlands, all on small, low trafficked roads.

Kesberget MTB-track

In the outdoor area Kesberget in the outskirts of Vårgårda there is a MTB-track which is 5 km long. The trail is marked with red markings with yellow "MTB" on. Please be aware that there are a lot of hikers and dog walkers in the area, so take it easy when crossing another trail.

Located around the two former ski slopes on Kesberget, the local downhill club has developed a bike park featuring approximately ten different descents. The dedicated enthusiasts have invested numerous hours to create varied tracks that invite perfect rides

The lift is typically open on Sundays from mid-May to November, depending on weather and conditions, between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Please check the Facebook page for exact opening hours.
