The building, which has served as a hotel for more than a century, recently underwent an extensive renovation and has now been reopened by local restaurateurs Jens Hallberg and Andreas Upper.

The hotel offers 13 bright and elegantly decorated rooms, all equipped with beds from Carpe Diem Beds to ensure the highest comfort. Its central location gives guests easy access to attractions such as the underwater world of Havets Hus in Lysekil, which is only one kilometer away.

Traditional Swedish cuisine and local seafood

The restaurant at Villa Solviken focuses on classic Swedish home cooking, prepared with fresh, local ingredients. The newly renovated dining room has a welcoming atmosphere, with a large kitchen island forming the heart of the space. During the month of July, guests can enjoy a popular seafood buffet on Wednesdays and Thursdays, featuring fresh catches from local fishing boats.

A name with history

The name “Villa Solviken” has historical roots. More than a century ago, when the railway was being built, a bay called Solviken was filled in to make room for the tracks. This bay once stretched almost up to the hotel’s doorstep, inspiring the name that remains to this day.
