Bockaskedeåsen - Toran
Skara

Beautiful picnic areas set in lush, tree-covered grazing land.

In the middle of the Vallebygden region, west of the table mountain Billingen, lies the Bockaskedeåsen nature reserve. The area offers species-rich natural pastures, with flowers such as cowslips, quaking grass, and cuckoo flowers gilding the ground in summer. From the ridge, you have a beautiful view of the neighboring mountain Kinnekulle, and a visit here at sunset offers beautiful views.

Bockaskedeåsen is a prominent ridge that was formed when the inland ice sheet melted 10,000 years ago and is located between Skara and Skövde. Bockaskedeåsen is about 600 meters long and about 35 meters high. This makes it the highest and most prominent ridge in the Valle area. It is covered with pastureland, and in the spring cherry trees and service trees bloom.

Experience more of the area

Stage 5 of the Billingeleden trail also passes through the reserve, a trail that takes you around the entire Billingen mountain on foot and showcases the mountain's multifaceted character.
