The historical site Varnhem is located midway between Skara and Skövde, with only 13 km to both cities. Cycle from Skara to Varnhem
From Skara to Varnhem, there is a signposted cycle path all the way from Skara town centre. The cycle path takes you to the community of Axvall where you can find coffee, food, and ice cream stops with a shop and pizzeria, past the beautiful lake Spånnsjön which offers a rich bird life and beautiful views over our flatland scenery. The cycle path is mostly flat and at its most beautiful when the sun begins to set.
Cycle Skövde to Varnhem
From Skövde to Varnhem, you cycle on the old railway embankment and pass historical sites such as St. Helena's Church and Heléns Park in Skövde, as well as Våmb Church once you have travelled a bit further.

Bus lines 1 and 200 take you to Varnhem from both Skara and Skövde and run regularly every day of the week.
Directions
Varnhem is located along road 49 which runs between Skara and Skövde, and it is 13 kilometres to each respective town. Turn towards Varnhem and follow the signs to Varnhem Abbey Church. On site, there is a paved car park with two charging stations for electric cars. In the neighbouring village of Axvall, there are more charging stations.
