A green oasis to reset your mind

Mariagården, a listed building, was built between 1770 and 1790 and it has been meticulously and stylishly renovated. You can wander around the display garden and admire the rich and varied array of annuals and perennials. There is a small greenhouse, perfect for catching your breath and resetting your mind, as well as an orangery, which during the spring is used for horticultural classes and talks and during the summer as a course venue.

Display garden with insect-friendly flowerbeds

Many of the flower beds at Mariagården have been created to attract bees, butterflies and other insects that are vital to the ecosystem. Older types of vegetables were also grown, such the Solberga broad bean, which is native to the area. On certain days, the Mariagården horticulturalist is on hand to provide you with gardening tips and advice.

Summer courses, children’s garden, and café

The little children’s garden, where it is permitted to pick the fruit and berries, is located in the heart of the garden at Mariagården. It has a children’s playhouse, open during the summer, where everyone is welcome regardless of whether they are a child or simply a child at heart. From May to September, the garden café serves freshly made pastries, coffee, juices, and other refreshments. Follow the path along the Stenunge å river and enjoy the beautiful natural setting around Mariagården.
