Järneberg REKO
Töreboda
To be able to produce really good food with the help of nature and our own bees. This is the driving force behind Järneberg REKO just outside Töreboda.
Just a couple of kilometres from Töreboda centre lies the residential area Järneberg and also a company with the same name. Järneberg REKO is run by Linda Englund, who has ambitious future plans for the operation.
It started as a challenge. Linda’s major interest in crisis readiness gave her the idea to test whether she and her partner could cultivate a sufficient amount to provide themselves and their three children with vegetables for an entire year. They took on the challenge – and succeeded.
The year of self-sufficiency further fuelled her interest and Linda decided to expand her cultivation further. 2025 was the first season she sold her vegetable crops. Since then Linda has been developing the business little by little.
Growth and buzz
The largest area of cultivation lies adjacent to Linda’s home, on land that she leases from her neighbour. Here grow tomatoes, cucumber, beans, peas, spices, corn, root vegetables, cabbage, potatoes and more – in other words the majority of what you would expect from a vegetable farmer. One of the specialities is the wide tomato assortment. A larger perennial plantation with berry bushes and fruit trees is under construction.
Also amongst the cultivation beds are many buzzing pets. They help make the harvest successful and at the same time produce honey for Linda and her customers. The taste of the honey depends on where the bees collect the nectar and pollen. This is why Linda has placed her bee colonies in two places: by the fields near home and on the edge of the forest a little further away.
Edible and sowable
Linda is passionate about natural farming free from pesticides and other toxins. She gets fertiliser from cattle and horse farms locally, but she also works with different covering materials and plant-residue compost direct on the cultivation beds so as to return nutrition to the earth.
The sales season stretches from April all the way into December. What is available to buy depends on the season and weather conditions. In the pre-season Linda sells vegetable plants and from 2027 she also expects to offer home-grown seeds of various kinds. A food-approved kitchen for juicing and jam making, is also planned for the coming year.
If you wish to buy from Linda (* visit her swish and grab kiosk), subscribe to vegetable boxes or place an order via Instagram/telephone. From time to time she also takes her harvest to markets in the local area.
*Obs: no swish outside Sweden
