Find you way to the Vara plain – here, in a garage, is a paradise for cheese lovers. This is where Sivan and her family mature their award-winning cheeses, just as appreciated by restaurant owners as by people in general.
The making of delicious, matured hard cheeses requires craft and these skills are preserved at Sivan’s Osthandel. The methods of cheese production have been passed down through Sivan's family since 1875. The company is certified by A Taste of West Sweden. This certification is for restaurants, producers and farm shops which offer sustainable, genuine west Swedish products and dining, all based on local, seasonal produce. Be sure to buy something to take home from the certified farm shop.
Farm shop with more flavour
During the summer you are welcome to the farm shop in Baljered, where you can sit down in the homely café and enjoy Sivan's delicious cheeses and accompaniments. In the small home bakery, bread, biscuits and crispbread is made with flour from local farms. Sivans Osthandel also has a year-round shop at Stora Torget in Vara.
