There are many lakes in Alingsås och plenty of places from where you can take a dip, regardless if you prefer beaches, cliffs or something else.

Keep cool with a refreshing swim in Alingsås. The town is home to two well-known lakes located close to the city centre, both easily reached on foot or by bicycle.

Lake Mjörn is the larger of the two and lies just west of the town centre, stretching all the way towards Lerum. Here, you can enjoy a swim at the popular Mjörn Beach or from the rocks near Lövekulle Camping.

The smaller lake, Lake Gerdsken, is located southeast of the town centre and offers several family-friendly swimming spots. Adjacent to the lake is Vimpeln Shopping Centre, where you'll find a variety of restaurants and shops.

Playa Mjörn Beach at Lake Mjörn

A wide, shallow sandy beach that is ideal for families with young children. While there is no jetty or diving tower, visitors have access to a kiosk and restrooms nearby. Playa Mjörn is located next to Mjörnvallen Football Arena.

Skår Swimming Area at Lake Mjörn

A smaller and more secluded swimming spot where bathing is only possible from the surrounding rocks. Perfect for those looking for a quieter experience by the lake.

Ingared Swimming Area at Lake Sävelången

The swimming area in Ingared is equipped with both a jetty and diving tower, making it a great choice for families. There are also toilets, barbecue facilities, and parking available nearby.

Bergsjödalsviken at Lake Mjörn

Bergsjödalsviken is a smaller swimming area featuring a jetty, sandy beach, toilets, and waste bins. Here, you can enjoy a peaceful swim in a more secluded setting with beautiful views.

Sandvik at Lake Ömmern

A smaller swimming spot with bathing opportunities from a narrow strip of beach. The easiest way to reach Sandvik is by walking or cycling.

Gräfsnäs Swimming Area (also known as Slottsbadet)

A popular swimming spot with a long sandy beach, beautifully located in Gräfsnäs Castle Park by Lake Anten. The area offers a bathing jetty with diving tower, toilets, waste bins, barbecue areas, and large grassy areas suitable for the whole family.

Nearby, you will also find parking, a café, restaurant, the ruins of Gräfsnäs Castle, and an InfoPoint.
