The Fika Tour in Alingsås – Sweden’s Café Capital

Do you love fika? Curious about Sweden’s café and bakery traditions? Then you don’t want to miss this unique guided Fika Tour through the charming cobbled streets and cozy courtyards of Alingsås – the fika capital of Sweden.

A Guided Tour with a Taste of Tradition

Join a delightful walk through the wooden town of Alingsås, while learning about Sweden’s rich fika culture. Alingsås has a baking and café tradition dating back over 300 years. In 1733, the Swedish king issued one of the country’s first official bakery licenses – and it went to Anders Sundgren in Alingsås. Little did he know the lasting impact his small bakery would have on the town’s women, industries, and café culture.

During the tour, a local guide shares fascinating stories about:

  • The history of coffee in Sweden

  • The evolution of the Swedish fika tradition

  • The town’s oldest cafés and their commitment to sustainability and quality ingredients

Many of the featured cafés have been recognized in the White Guide and other prestigious culinary listings.

Of course, one of the highlights is the fika tastings – you’ll get to sample a variety of locally made pastries and baked goods at different stops along the way.

Price: 381 kr/person (plus additional 10 kr service fee)
