Kvarnsjön nature preserve
Alingsås

An "island" of old forest among modern forestry

The trees around lake Kvarnsjön are old, very old. Some of the pine trees are probably over 150 years old.

Here, in this preserve a small distance north of the city centre, you will find old trees and lots of blueberries. The reserve is a popular retreat for many locals in the area and you will probably meet quite many out for a "forest shower".

There is a path around the lake of about 1.5 kilometres, but there are lots of other paths and trails in the area to explore.
