Östängs Farm is a thriving small-scale farm just outside Alingsås, where sustainable farming, animal welfare and circular thinking are at the heart of everything they do. Vegetables, honey, fruit and meat are produced with great care for both the soil and wildlife – without artificial fertilisers or chemical pesticides. Guided by the principles of permaculture, the farm is a place where food, nature and people exist in harmony.
Östängs Farm is a family-run farm located about 20 km north of Alingsås.
Ylva and Jonas grow a wide variety of vegetables, fruit and berries. The farm is home to a forest garden with edible plants, as well as bees, ducks, chickens, sheep and geese. Visitors are welcome to explore the vegetable gardens, greenhouses and forest garden at their own pace.
The farm shop is staffed on Wednesdays from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, from the last week of May until the end of October. At all other times, the shop operates on a self-service basis. Here you can find seasonal produce such as fresh vegetables, apple juice, honey and sheepskins.
The farm's products are sold in the farm shop, through the REKO Ring Alingsås, and at the Alingsås Farmers' Market. During the growing season, you can also subscribe to weekly vegetable boxes. In September and October, the farm's small cider press accepts apples for pressing into fresh apple juice.
