The short Gräfsnäs bike lap
Gräfsnäs

A shorter cycle route on gravel and asphalt

This suggested route takes you on a small tour around Gräfsnäs and Sollebrunn. The route is about 21 kilometres long in total. Perfect for kids!

Route description

A suitable starting point is Sollebrunn town centre or Gräfsnäs Castle Park. This description begins in Gräfsnäs.

From Gräfsnäs, you cycle along a beautiful lakeside gravel road where you can spot the island of Loholmen – the original site of the predecessor to Gräfsnäs Castle. The gently winding road includes a few shorter uphill and downhill sections. Along the way, you pass Ruus Heritage Farm, with its traditional bakehouse and kitchen garden – a perfect spot for a short break.

You then continue into the charming village of Loo. If the weather is nice, you can enjoy a refreshing swim at Looviken beach. Next to the beach is “Sågverket i Loo”, a former sawmill that occasionally hosts art exhibitions and other events.

After your swim, head north and retrace a short stretch of the same road before continuing on a smaller paved road towards Sollebrunn. Along the way, you pass the Mölnemad Kitchen Garden, which has a seasonal farm shop selling vegetables, honey and delicious handmade caramels.

Soon the landscape opens up and you’ll see Sollebrunn ahead. Carefully cross road 190 and follow the cycle path north into the centre.

In Sollebrunn, you can stop at Kaffekoppen café or Sollebrunns Gästgiveri for fika or a meal. You then leave the town via a different road, entering the cosy, storybook-like atmosphere of Erska church village. If you have the energy, cycle up the long hill to Erska Church – it’s well worth the effort. In addition to the beautiful and impressive church, you’ll also find an Iron Age burial ground here.

Continue along the cycle path towards Gräfsnäs, or choose an alternative gravel road from Erska via Westerbo shop and Ullfarmen, marked in purple on the map below.

The route follows paved cycle paths, low-traffic roads and, between Gräfsnäs and Loo, a gravel road. The alternative route via Westerbo and Ullfarmen is also on gravel.

Here you can download GPS files for the route and print a PDF map.
