Floating sauna in Karlsborg

In the clear waters of Lake Vättern, in Karlsborg Bay just outside the fortress walls, you’ll find the Floating Sauna in Karlsborg. A wood-fired sauna, heated lounge area and sun deck all in one. If the heat gets too intense, there’s a hatch in the floor for a refreshing dip.

  • Karlsborg Fortress is located right next door – perfect for a stroll and exploration. Guided tours are available in summer and for groups by advance booking at other times.

Åsebol sauna and hot tub

At the sheep farm in Åsebol, by Lake Gårdsjön in Gullspång municipality, you can unwind in the farm’s sauna or hot tub. Take the opportunity to book one of the farm’s activity packages focused on fishing, horseback riding or cycling.

Sauna in Jonsboda

In Jonsboda, just outside Töreboda, the guest harbour and campsite are located right next to the Göta Canal. There is also a wood-fired sauna here.

  • Cafés, food and live music events are available during the summer.
  • The Göta Canal is ideal for both cycling and walking.

Large hot tub on Dillö

At Västergården Dillö, in the Mariestad archipelago, you can enjoy a warming hot tub by the shore of Lake Vänern. The tub is filled with 6,000 litres of soft Vänern water and heated with wood. If you get too warm, take a refreshing swim from the nearby jetty. Next to it is the cosy “balje cabin,” used for pizza baking or enjoying other food.

Wood-fired sauna in Granvik

In Granvik, in the Tiveden area, you’ll find the wood-fired sauna Ivan by the shore of Lake Vättern, with space for up to eight people. Perhaps a cooling swim from the jetty will tempt you?

Floating sauna in Sjötorp

On a jetty in the small boat harbour in Sjötorp, there is a floating wood-fired sauna that accommodates up to eight people. Changing rooms are available, and the surrounding waters of Lake Vänern invite you to take a refreshing dip from the sauna jetty.

Relax at Laxhall

At the far end of the island of Torsö in Lake Vänern lies the archipelago idyll of Laxhall. The newly built relaxation area features two saunas and an outdoor hot tub right by the lake – perfect conditions for unwinding in a beautiful setting, all with stunning views over the Brommö Sound.

Almost in the town centre, by Karlsholmen Folk Park, you’ll find the Mariestad Sauna Raft. Enjoy a relaxing sauna session and finish with a dip in Lake Vänern.
