From communion wine to producer / wholesaler in 100 years.

Previously known by the name Herrljunga Cider, the company has now changed its name to Herrljunga Drycker. The history of the company did not start with cider, but with communion wine.

1911 is not just the year the Mona-Lisa was brazenly stolen from the Louvre Museum in Paris, it´s also when free church pastor Oskar Svenberg was fed up with the lack of communion wine. Pastor Svenberg, who preached in Herrljunga countryside, begins to manufacture communion wine for his own use and also for sale. Herrljunga Saftfabrik & Försäljningsaktiebolag was born.

The Branmark family takes the helm in 1945

The Branmark family takes the helm in 1945 and steers the company towards success via a football trip to England. The year is 1969, the spring air is fresh and the manufacturer Bertil visits a pub together with his son Sture where they drink cider. There and then the idea is born to start making their own cider. Once back home, the Branmark duo sets about manufacturing what will become Sweden's most popular cider. Before the end of the year, the first green bottle has left the factory in Herrljunga.

Several beverage categories land at the factory

In the factory located next to the farm shop, both self-branded and well-known external brands are produced. Now the company is running a full-scale beverage house, run by a fourth generation Branmark.

After more than fifty years, Herrljunga Drycker still produces Sweden's most beloved cider, but also has many other fine brands under the same roof. Herrljunga Musteri manufactures beverages from berries, fruit and vegetables such as must, juice and health shots. Cocky Crane, with both poppy sweet and classic crafted cider, has been awarded a medal for "best cider". Spirit of Sweden manufactures the drinks of the future and the Christmas must-have Herrljunga 1911. Dufvenkrooks is known for red and white mulled wine with different flavourings.
