After many years as a middle school teacher, in 2023 Linda Björklund chose to take the plunge with a whole new lifestyle close to nature and what it provides. Today on the land where her forefathers lived and worked for generations she runs the small-scale vegetable and flower growing Nolkärrs Farm.

Good soil health and biodiversity are Linda’s watchwords out in the field. She grows most of her crops in fixed beds and only fertilises with farm compost from the plant residue of the crops, and manure from the farm’s cows and ducks. Customers who are curious about her cultivation methods are always welcome to look around the beds and ask questions. Linda is passionate about both the art of cultivation and human encounters and will happily share her small-scale farming knowhow to others.

Green and colourful

Every year a variety of different vegetables and flowers are included in Nolkärrs Farm range. Everything from cabbage and root vegetables to tomatoes, cucumbers and pumpkins can be found in the vegetable beds outside the farm shop, and the flower beds are a riot of colour. What there is at any given time depends on the season, the wind and weather, plus whatever the farm owner decides to grow. And do not be surprised if vegetables sneak into the flower bouquets and vice versa!

Several ways to shop

The operation at Nolkärrs Farm is constantly under development. Its owner offers lectures, planned writing events and dreams of using her Green Acres certification to help homebound youth return to school.

Harvest time at Nolkärrs farm stretches from around the beginning of June to the end of October. During this time customers can subscribe for vegetable bags and/or flower bouquets, *shop at the Swish and Grab kiosk out by the road (Obs: *no Swish outside Sweden) or ring and visit the farm shop when Linda is there. When there is a wedding or party happening, she will happily make bridal and festive bouquets to order.
