MTB trails in Kinnekulle

Discovering Kinnekulle by bike proves a truly exciting experience. MTB trails come in five lengths as well as levels of difficulty—four do start from Kinnekullegården, plus there's the Kinnekulle Trail, that is accessible from various points. The trails are designed for beginners and professionals. You can enjoy anything from a leisurely bike ride to demanding climbs and steep descents.

Kinnekulleleden MTB

Kinnekulle offers an incredibly varied landscape along the same trail, you cycle through deciduous forests, alvar terrain, cliffs, spruce forests, and open meadows. The trail is mostly easy to ride, with nice paths and gravel roads.

You can cycle on almost the entire Kinnekulleden, in a couple of places hikers and cyclists are separated to protect nature. This route shows you exactly where to cycle to get to the right place. Follow the signs and be aware of hikers along the trail. Download the GPS file here.

Salen runt MTB

This trail is classified as easy and runs mostly on dirt roads and flat forest paths. The trail starts on asphalt with a short uphill followed by downhill, then it's time for forest paths, gravel and wonderfully winding downhills where the daredevils can pick up the pace! Then begins the climb to get back,

It starts from the southeast corner of the parking lot at Kinnekullegården, turn left onto the asphalt road and follow the green markings. Download the GPS-file here.

Skagenslingan MTB

This trail is rated as intermediate and runs through the forest with some elevation gain. It mainly follows forest paths and gravel roads and begins nicely with asphalt and then a steady 2 km downhill. On the return, you gradually climb back up to reach the top at the Kinnekulle lookout tower before the final descent home. Download the GPS-file here.

Sprängestan MTB

This trail is considered difficult due to technical parts. It starts from the southeast corner of the parking lot at Kinnekullegården, follow the red markings. Download the GPS-file here.

Intervallslingan MTB

This is a short trail of 900 meters that is perfect for intervals - hence the name. It starts from the southeast corner of the parking lot at Kinnekullegården, follow the yellow markings. Download the GPS-file here.

Good To Know

Bikewash at Kinnekulle

Bike Wash

At the parking lot by Kinnekullegården, there is a bike wash station available from spring to autumn. It is closed during the winter when the water freezes. All shorter trails on Högkullen start from this parking area.
