Hike to Martorps waterfall
Kinnekulle
Take this 1,6 kilometer trail to Martorpsfallet, the beautiful waterfall cascading over the edge of the limestone cliff. The best time to see it in full force is in spring when the water levels are at their highest.
Quick Facts
Level: Easy
Length: 3,2 kilometers round trip
Approximate times: 40 minutes
The rock formations were created about 9,000 years ago when the inland ice melted and waves carved out caves in the softer parts of the limestone. The trail to the waterfall passes through overgrown pastures, which are now forested. In small open clearings, you may find species such as the Early Orchis mascula, a purple orchid that thrives in lime-rich soil. Discover more about Kinnekulle here!
