In the heart of Sweden’s tourist paradise, surrounded by a wealth of interesting attractions and ancient heritage sites, lies Tanum Parish. We offer a meeting place for Christian faith and fellowship, carried by the message of life, human dignity, and salvation for all.
The new Tanum Parish was formed in 2018 and covers the entire municipality of Tanum, including places such as Tanumshede, Fjällbacka, Grebbestad, Kville, Lur, Havstenssund, Hamburgsund, Svenneby, Naverstad, Mo, Resö, and more. We are building the church of the future for children, youth, families, and the elderly through worship and parish activities.
Tanum Parish offers a wide range of activities, including several choirs, 15 churches, multicultural language cafés, youth groups, and more. We also run our own pastoral care center, open year‑round, to meet the need for conversation and support within the community. We also have our own church boat, “Ann‑Marie.” All of this is grounded in our Christian faith, guided by the message of life, joy, security, fellowship, human dignity, peace, and salvation for all.
Tanum is located on historic ground. Here, people live side by side with the sea and the idyllic landscape. Perhaps that is why tens of thousands of people visit our parish each summer. Here you will find some of the best‑preserved rock carvings in the world, mysterious Viking labyrinths, and magnificent coastal churches and parish churches, each unique in its own way.
