History

The name "Hoga" carries the echoes of history when two kings are said to have rested in their burial mounds (högar) after the epic battle. Unfortunately, one of the mounds was accidentally plowed away during the 19th century when Hoga Estate was transformed into a "crown estate." Nordströmgården has been the hub of Tjörn since the mid-1800s. Three generations of sheriffs and seamen with the last name Nordström have left their mark on the place.
