Alingsås

Learn about the Swedish Fika tradition in the captial of Fika

Take part of a guided Fika tour to get to know more about the unique Swedish Fika culture. Together with an experienced guide you will discover the picturesque city of Alingsås with its many cafes, bakeries, pastry shops and of course, get to try some delicacies.

 

The tradition of Fika is well rooted and to most Swedes a given part of both work and private life. The traditional Fika consists of a cup of coffee or tea with cinnamon buns or biscuits but the variations are many.  If you are interested in the fika culture and would like to know more about it, a visit to Alingsås is a must - the town is known as the Swedish capital of Fika.

Fika tour

During Saturdays for approximately 1,5 hour you will be guided thorugh the city centre to try delights from some of the many cafes. The theme is Swedish classics. The guide will mix information about how the cafes work with sustainability regarding choice of raw products, locally produced coffee and history about how Alingsås became the capital of Fika. The tour will end with a grand finale where you will sit down to enjoy a fika in a traditional and magnificent environment.

Let us know which Saturday you want to go, how many you are, name and address, allergies if relevant and if you want the tour to be in English.

Every tour is limited to a maximum of 15 people.

The tour is 330 SEK/person.
