Brobacken Wood-Fired Bakery is a small-scale artisan bakery beautifully located between Alingsås and Borås. The bakery is run by Ann-Sofie and Peter Fast, who in 2009 chose to leave city life behind and follow their dream of living closer to nature while pursuing their shared passion for artisan food and a meaningful lifestyle.

The bakery is housed in an old timber building from the 19th century, carefully restored from a neglected cottage into a welcoming bakery and farm shop. Here, bread is still baked the traditional way in a wood-fired oven, using a bread peel, open flames and skilled craftsmanship – just as it was done in the past.

The philosophy is simple: small-scale, authentic and close to nature. Ingredients are carefully selected, often locally sourced, and much of the work is done by hand. The result is bread with rich flavours and a nostalgic character, inspired by traditional baking methods.

What makes a visit to Brobacken truly special is the personal atmosphere. You are welcomed not only by the scent of freshly baked bread, but also by genuine hospitality and a strong passion for baking. Visitors are often invited to see the baking process, ask questions and learn more through stories, tips and recipes.

In the farm shop, you will find freshly baked bread as well as a carefully selected range of local products and crafts. Combined with the peaceful countryside setting and closeness to nature, Brobacken is a much-loved destination for a relaxing day trip. It is a place where you can slow down and enjoy the experience.
