Åmål has several nice shopping streets with a wide range of shops. In Åmål there are not many of the chain stores you are used to find in other cities in Sweden. Instead, there are many small and personal stores you won’t find anywhere else.
Close to the water
When you are in Åmål you are always close to the water. Åmål's marina is located right in the city center. Next to Kulturmagasinet (the old church), museums and Åmål's Old town full of history. The proximity to the water encourages pleasant walks. Dip your toes in Lake Vänern or feed the ducks.
The Event City
There are a lot of events during the summer in Åmål. Sports and culture are close to our hearts in this city. Our most famous events are the annual Blues Festival and also "Bokdagar in Dalsland" where famous authors visits Åmål. These events draw thousands of guests to the city.
