One of Sweden’s largest school museums

Årbols school museum is one of Sweden’s largest school museums and has a comprehensive educational collection from the 1800s and into our own time. They show school furniture from different eras, there are also textbooks, teaching materials and teaching aids.

 

Classrooms and books

The ground floor has two classrooms and a cloakroom. Upstairs is a large exhibition hall and a research center. There are reading books from various eras, like 1800 century ABC book and a lot of the Swedish classical text books used over the years.

Tössbohallen

At the old school attic, atop of the museum's school classrooms, there is a large exhibit hall with stands showing different tools and materials. One area has a booth with different models of radios. The National Radio came to be an important part of teaching with its programs with different subjects. The first English teaching also took place through the school radio. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 13:00 - 17:00 between June 24 to August 9 2024. Entrance fee 40 SEK/person from 16 years of age.
