- The right clothes are A and O. Cotton breathes poorly, so choose wool clothes that both breathe and keep you warm. Also bring reinforcement garments. Preferably a warmer sweater and windproof trousers and a jacket that can withstand rain.
- Put on shoes that are well walked in before setting off on your hike. Abrasions can ruin any hiking experience. If you know that you usually get abrasions, a tip is to tape the heels before the hike.
- Choose a backpack with a waist belt if you are going for a longer hike - it saves your back and helps you carry your pack comfortably, whether it is a smaller picnic pack or a multi-day pack.
- Bring a couple of extra socks, it can be good to bring if you get wet on your feet. Wet feet increase the risk of abrasions!
- Bring something to eat and drink on the hike. Taking a break and getting energy and water during the hike is important. If it is cold outside, it is warming to bring a hot drink with you in a thermos.
- Bring a seat or sleeping pad in your backpack. Well worth it if you want to take a break and want to sit down if it is wet outside or cold weather.
- Take a map out on the hike or download it to your mobile. Can be good for orientation and help you keep track of where you are. If you have a mobile phone, a tip is to bring an extra battery charger, so the mobile phone's battery does not run out.
- Take care of yourself! Bring a first-aid kit and some extra food. It is always good to also tell a relative or friends where you intend to go in case something unforeseen should happen during your hike.

Right of public access – a unique opportunity
You make use of the right of public access
when you go for a walk in the forest, paddle
a kayak, go climbing or just sit on a rock and
think.
In order for everyone to enjoy nature, we need
to take care of nature and wildlife and show
consideration for landowners and others
who are outdoors.
