On this 6-kilometer loop, you will experience the highlights of one of Kinnekulle’s largest nature reserves—Österplana Heath & Meadow. In spring, you can find several protected orchids here.

During this hike, you'll explore the expansive Österplana Heath & Meadow nature reserve. The area is situated on Kinnekulle's limestone plateau, giving rise to the alvar natural type. While it is most famously known on Öland, it is also found on Kinnekulle and a few other locations around the world. This unique environment makes it a habitat for several rare orchids and other plants in the spring.
