This nature reserve features an accessible walking path. It includes Sandbäcksbadet, a shallow sandy beach suitable for swimming, excursions, and picnics. Along the trail, you’ll find informational signs describing the local flora and fauna. In the middle of the reserve stands a bird-watching tower. If you’re lucky, you might spot an osprey or a white-tailed eagle.

Nature & Wildlife

The landscape consists of several long sand ridges running parallel to the beach, shaped over time by the wind and water along the open shoreline. The lower areas in between feature wetter habitats, such as alder swamps. The approximately 35-hectare black alder forest along the shoreline is unique in the region due to its size. The deciduous forest in Östra Sannorna is classified as a key biotope.

Less common bird species observed in the reserve include the bittern, osprey, white-tailed eagle, bar-tailed godwit, bearded reedling, and lesser spotted woodpecker.
