Götene
The guest harbor is well protected from all directions by both breakwaters and islands. Årnäs is a small village, and the nearest towns for shopping are Götene, Hällekis, and Mariestad. Close to the guest harbor is Jutan, a lovely swimming spot.
In Årnäs guest harbor, there are about 80 boat slips, 5 guest moorings for boats, and approximately 20 spaces for caravans or motorhomes.
Please note... Årnäs is a small village with only 175 year-round residents, so there are no services such as daily groceries, waste disposal, or fuel available here. However, there is good drinking water at the quay, electrical outlets at the harbor slips, and at most parking spaces. The clubhouse has a kitchen and dining area, 2 toilets, and 2 showers with hot water. There is also a grill area available for use.
For gray water disposal, you are referred to Hönsäters harbor, where gray water can be disposed of free of charge.
**History of Årnäs**
It was during the time when Årnäs Glassworks AB was a thriving industry up until the 1960s that the foundation for an active boating life was laid. A harbor was built in connection with the glassworks to handle the delivery of raw materials and finished products, as well as to accommodate the glassworks' customers. Årnäs Boat Club was established in 1976.
