History of Österplana Church
Österplana Church, built in 1875 in a cathedral-inspired style, has a long and layered history. The current building replaced an older medieval church that had become too small and deteriorated for the growing congregation. Traces of even earlier sacred structures have been found in the area, showing that the site has been used for worship for many centuries.
In 2024, the church was deconsecrated and is now operated as Österplana Agriturismo, with a new role as a cultural and visitor destination.
