Mariestad
Three of the town's roundabouts are adorned by scultures of marine themes. It's Lions club who, with the help of sponsors, have paid for these embellishments which splendidly showcases the Lake Town Mariestad already by its entrances.
2001, the first roundabout adornment was inaugurated; the so-called lighthouse roundabout. By the cross of Göteborgsvägen and Marieforsleden sits a lighthouse in miniature on top of a pond. The lighthouse is made by Svetsbolaget in Mariestad and has been named Skaraborg's most beautiful roundabout by the listeners of Sveriges Radio P4 Skaraborg.
The next who gets to be dressed up is the one by the northern entrance where Stockholmsvägen meets Marieforsleden. A beautiful gig towers here, also made by Svetsbolaget. It was financed by fonds and sponsors who worked with the roundabout group Lions. It was inaugurated in 2018.
The third one is quite new, and consists of an anchor donated by Öxelsund's port. The local businesses Svetsbolaget and UW-Elast helped fix any issues. The anchor decorates its roundabout at the cross between Göteborgsvägen and Hermansgårdsvägen. The anchor was inaugurated in june 2023.
