Disposal of toilet waste and grey water is available in Lyrestad, Hajstorp and Mariestad harbor.

The restaurant has a generous outdoor seating area, partly located on the dock, where you can enjoy the sunset. During the day, breakfast, brunch, coffee, ice cream, and light meals are served. In the evening, dinner is available. Check the website for opening hours and menu.

Cycle Along the Göta Canal

The Göta Canal Trail is a national cycle route, named Europe’s Best Cycling Route at the prestigious Fiets en Wandelbeurs fair in Utrecht, the Netherlands, in 2025.

Cycling along the canal is easy and peaceful. From Norrkvarn, the trail follows the historic towpath, which runs right next to the canal. This is where horses and oxen once pulled boats along the canal. Today, the path is gravel and completely car-free. No matter which direction you go, you’ll pass several locks, small villages, and towns.

If you didn’t bring your own bike, you can rent one at the reception. You can also buy a picnic to take along for your ride.

The area includes a lock zone and cultural trail with more information about the Göta Canal. If you're traveling with children, the Mini Canal is perfect for splashing and play. The surroundings offer great opportunities for cycling and hiking along the canal. If you prefer, you can also go canoeing.
