The archipelago is accessible by car, bus, and bike on highway 155 towards Hisingen/Öckerö and the Lilla Varholmen ferry terminal. By car it takes only 25 minutes. You then take the free car ferry to Hönö/ Öckerö (12 minutes) or Björkö (6 minutes). You can also travel by bus from Gothenburgl to the ferry terminal at Lilla Varholmen (45 minutes).
Then you can go further on with the ferry, to the rest of the islands in the archipelago.
The ferry from Burö takes you to the northern islands, Rörö, Hyppeln and Knippla. Between Björkö, Öckerö, Grötö and Kalvsund there is a small ferry.
Summertime a boat goes to Hönö Klåva from Stenpiren and Eriksberg in Gothenburg.
