Every year, tens of thousands of cranes gather near the Trandansen Information Centre to rest, dance and feed. From mid-March until early April, the cranes stop off at Lake Hornborgasjön on their way from Spain to their breeding sites in the north of Sweden.
Falbygdens Osteria is a cheese shop and a restaurant in the town of Falköping. The shop sells one hundred and fifty different cheeses, including it is own-made classic Swedish cheeses and varieties from around the world.
Pack the picnic basket and spend the day at Mösseberg, which offers plenty of glorious nature experiences. The area includes a wilderness playground, bathing lake, running trails, Frisbee golf, and an animal park with goats, pigs, and rabbits.
If you want to get closer to the cranes and take photographs, hides are available for hire near Trandansen Information Centre in March - April. We will release booking for the next season on October 2nd.
Two thirds of Sweden´s passage graves are found here in the Falbygden area. A particularly remarkable site is Ekornavallen, a grave field used continuously from the Stone Age until early Iron Age.
