Kinnekulle Trail in Two Days with Arranged Accommodation

Tour suggestions for those who want to hike the Kinnekulle Trail over two days with accommodation at B&Bs/hostels.

Below are two itinerary suggestions with different starting points:

Suggestion 1: Blomberg–Hällekis–Blomberg

Suggestion 2: Hällekis–Husaby–Hällekis

 

Suggestion 1: Blomberg–Hällekis–Blomberg

Hike Day 1 – Blomberg to Hällekis

This hiking tour begins in the cozy village of Blomberg and takes you through meadows, pastures, and limestone quarries, as well as a string of manors and the stunning views at The Grand Quarry and Söckeviken. The hike ends north of Kinnekulle Camping. If you want to stay in Hällekis, where Falkängens Logi are located, it is  a 2.5 km detour from the trail, well signposted along the Biosphere Trail. If you prefer to stay at Pensionat Karlslund, continue a bit further and take a detour on 2 km to Gössäter.

Hike Day 2 – Hällekis to Blomberg

From Hällekis, the hike now ascends toward Kinnekulle's highest peak and the beautiful Kinnekulle observation tower. The hike then descends past sights like Österplana nature preserve, Martorps waterfall, and Lasse’s Cave before you soon return to Blomberg, having completed the entire Kinnekulle Trail.

Suggestion 2: Hällekis–Husaby, Lasse’s Cave –Hällekis


Hike Day 1 – Högkullen to Lasse’s Cave, Husaby

The hike begins along The Biosphere Trail and connects to the Kinnekulle Trail after 2.5 km. At the junction, turn left and climb up to Kinnekulle’s highest peak, then experience Österplana nature preserve and Martorps waterfall before reaching Lasse’s Cave where today's stage ends. From here, it’s about 1 km to Husaby and the Biskopsborgen B&B for overnight stay. Alternatively, there’s Äventyrsgården Hostel, also a 1 km detour but to the south from the trail.

Hike Day 2 – Lasse’s Cave, Husaby to Hällekis

Today's hike follows the western side of Kinnekulle and soon reaches charming Blomberg, which offers a café, rock carvings, and a bathing area. Your tour then continues past sights like Råbäck's harbor, Gröne Skog with its beautiful old quarry, Munch meadows, and Hellekis Manor. Finally, you walk along the cliffs of Söckeviken before returning to Hällekis, having completed the Kinnekulle Trail.
