Björnsund Canal
Morlanda, Orust

3,5 km, easy

Walking along the Björnsund Canal on Orust is a true delight for the soul. Here, history meets a harmonious natural landscape of shimmering water, lush forests, rocky cliffs, and a sense of stillness that brings peace to the mind. It is a very popular area for birdwatching, fishing, and hiking.

If you would like to learn more about the trail and the construction of the canal between 1935 and 1943, which was carried out to open the shipping route for larger vessels to Uddevalla, you can find more information on the Orust kommun website.
