Kulturföreningen Gamla Grebbestad
Grebbestad
The association documents and spread knowledge about how it was to grow up, work and live in Grebbestad back in the days. They want to show how Grebbestad has changed throughout time.
The association has a large amount of unique photo material from the end of the 19th century onwards. The photos show the environment, events and people. Their job is to identify the photos, document them and make digital copies. These photos are then shown in a variety of slideshows at exhibitions as well as the photo gallery on their website www.gamlagrebbestad.se. Many times throughout the year, the slideshows are shown at photo- and story nights. Maybe you have some photos from old times that the association can borrow and scan?
Through interviews, the local stories of Grebbestad residents living here many years ago were documented. Maybe you have and old memory or story to share? The association also owns material from recorded radio shows. One example is the recording of the live show “Skivor till kaffet” on Sveriges Radio when Beril Perrolf visited the cannery in 1971.
During the summer, many cultural tours are organized in Grebbestad. The association gives out a Christmas card and a photo calendar with motives from the old Grebbestad every year.
The cultural association Gamla Grebbestad was founded in 2007 and has 170 members as of today.
