Tjurpannan Nature Reserve
Grebbestad

Tjurpannan lies just south of Havstenssund. Since there is no protective outher archipelago, it is one of hte most exposed sections of mainland on the coast of Bohuslän.

Tjurpannan lacks a protective outer archipelago, and the inner shipping lane passes very close by here. For seafarers, it has always been a feared passage. A visit to Tjurpannan during a storm is an extraordinary experience. However, for those planning to try their luck fishing or swim from the cliffs, calm weather is an absolute necessity. All around the area there are several beautiful swimming spots — find your own hidden gem!

The exposed location and former grazing have shaped a very open heath and rocky landscape that still remains. The area is easy to walk, and from the many high points you are offered magnificent views from the mainland across the archipelago toward the horizon in the southwest.
The western part of the area is characterized by steep rocky shores, occasionally broken up by coves with boulder, gravel, and in some cases sandy beaches.

Tjurpannan is beautiful and dramatic to visit in every season and in all kinds of weather. More information about the nature reserve and the applicable regulations can be found on the Länstyrelsen's website.

How to get here

From the E6, take road 163 toward Grebbestad, then continue toward Havstenssund. Drive 4 km north and turn left at the sign “Naturreservat.” Pass Saltviks Camping and continue straight for another 250 meters. Park in the large parking lot and walk the final stretch along the gravel road.

Parking is available close to the nature reserve, and accessibility is good with a wide gravel road leading all the way to the sea.
