World Heritage Site – The Rock Carvings of Tanum

The Tanum Rock Carvings were inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List in 1994 and are considered so valuable that they are often mentioned alongside world-famous sites such as the Pyramids of Egypt, the Grand Canyon and the Great Wall of China. The carvings were created around 3,000 years ago and provide a unique insight into the beliefs, daily life and culture of people living during the Bronze Age.
