Tidaholm

Spotlight on Sports Personalities
The Sports History Museum is run by the Tidaholm Sports History Association. They have collected equipment, clothing, prizes, and other items that belonged to renowned sports figures with connections to Tidaholm. The museum curates these collections, and most of them are on display for visitors. Several athletes from Tidaholm have participated in the Olympics, such as track and field athlete Erik Backman and shooter Gustaf Andersson. Football referee Erik Fredriksson and gymnast and judge Lisbeth Göthberg are also well-known sports personalities from Tidaholm. Each of them has an exhibit where you can learn about their journey to the top.
Numerous Sports Clubs
For a relatively small municipality, Tidaholm has an unusually high number of sports clubs, and most of them are represented at the museum. The associations are showcased through presentations, historical texts, images, and newspaper clippings.
The Tidaholm Model
The Sports History Museum features a scale model of Tidaholm city as it appeared in 1945.
The model was created by volunteer workers who dedicated over 5000 hours to the project.
Initially, the idea was to document all the football fields in the municipality, but as the project progressed, it was decided to also document the city's architectural landscape at that time.
Opening Hours: Monday 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM, Thursday 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM.
