Bengtsfors
The hiking trail Egersknatten is part of the Nordleden and offers you a nice escape into Dalsland's wilderness.
The hiking trail to Egersknatten is about 2.5 km long and starts along road 172, just north of Bengtsfors. From the viewpoint at the top, you’ll enjoy stunning views over the northern part of Lake Lelång – a popular destination for nature lovers and photographers. At the summit, 262 metres above sea level, you’ll also find two impressive Bronze Age burial cairns.
Part of the Nordleden Trail
Egersknatten is part of the Nordleden, a 28 km long hiking route between Bengtsfors and Gustavsfors. The trail offers a varied and scenic experience through forests, lakes and historic sites. For a unique round trip, you can combine your hike with a ride on a draisine, a paddling trip or a local bus ride.
Located in the Skarsdalen–Skarsdalsbergen Nature Reserve
Most of the trail passes through this nature reserve east of Lake Lelång. The area features dramatic cliffs, deep ravines and forested valleys. The Skarsdalen valley and the vertical rock walls of Skarsdalsberget create a spectacular and wild landscape typical of Dalsland.
Getting There and Parking
Access is from road 172, about 6 km north of Bengtsfors in the direction of Gustavsfors. Parking is available along the road, or you can start your hike from the bathing area at Kråkviken.
