Are you looking for a boat ride to or from Hjo? Do you need a ride by car? Arne is happy to assist you to your intended destination. Experience Hjo from the lakeside - and feel the winds of Lake Vättern.
Where can you go?
Arne is happy to assist you in reaching your destination - whether it's Hjo or any of the towns on the Östergötland side or down to Småland. For several years, Arne has helped pilgrims cross to the other side, but of course, you don't need to be on such an adventure for Arne to assist you. Perhaps you just want to visit your relatives, or maybe you wish to experience Lake Vättern - on Vättern?

These times are estimates - actual times may vary depending on weather and wind.
Motala > 1 hour and 15 minutes
Vadstena > 1 hour
Borghamn > 50 minutes
Hästholmen > 30 minutes
Visingsö > 45 minutes
Gränna > 1 hour
Boat types available
Arne offers three boat options. Fast powerboat, sailboat and local traditional boat (Vättersnipa) for rowing or sailing (included companion boat). All options are weather dependent to varying degrees.
Group size: 1 to 6 people.
Costs Boat Transport
- Fast powerboat: Start fee Hjo SEK 240, then SEK 300/hour.
(Transport Hjo – Hästholmen / Hästholmen – Hjo, by powerboat, 1 to 6 people: SEK 560.) - Sailboat: Start fee Hjo SEK 100, then SEK 100/hour.
- Local traditional boat: Start fee Hjo SEK 480, then SEK 150/hour.
Car transport
Arne also offers transport by car.
- Group size: 1 to 4 people. Larger groups upon request.
- Price: Hjo – Hästholmen / Hästholmen – Hjo: SEK 1000.
