Svärtan chapel
Hjo
Svärtan’s Chapel, completed in 1932, is the newest church building in Hjo parish and was made possible through donated land, local volunteer work and gifts—many of which are still in use today.
It was fully paid for by 1940 and has since hosted services and community activities such as worship, baptisms, weddings, Sunday school and confirmation classes. The chapel has been renovated several times due to frequent use, including major work in 1976 and 2006, and it received a church bell in 1937, which has been electrically operated since 1976.
