Bräcke Historical Museum
Skärhamn, Tjörn

Here, you can wander around and see how the people on the island lived in the past. Travel back a hundred years and feel the prevailing atmosphere.

Take a stroll into the general store with all its goods, buy some sweets, and have them in a cone just like they used to do. Step into the threshold of the schoolroom. Here, the feeling of how strict it could be emerges.

In the main building with ten rooms, there are many old items, including an exceptionally fine collection of costumes and textiles.

Tjörn's local heritage association runs the local museum in Bräcke, Hjälteby, where the local historian Olaus Olsson lived. Besides the aforementioned schoolroom and general store, the estate comprises a farm, a simple cottage, a smithy, and a traditional backwoods cottage.
