The west coast gem of Hamburgsund is close to Fjällbacka to the north and the popular Smögen pier lies 30 kilometres to the south. A rift valley filled by the sea separates Hamburgö from the mainland and it attracts many holidaymakers and private boats in the summer season.

Hamburgsund Bed and Breakfast has been recently built in the centre of the town, next to the ferry station. There is a lift to the rooms, which are on the first floor. All of them have a private balcony, shower and toilet, WiFi and TV. You can choose between 6 standard double rooms and 4 slightly larger double rooms with a sofa bed as well as a double bed, making it possible for four people to stay the night. Pets are welcome in some of the rooms. Hamburgsunds is a non-smoking B&B.

Rock carvings, exotic animals and island hopping

Hamburgsund is a lively town with traditions of fishing, cargo shipping and stonemasonry; these days it has shops and restaurants, fine seaside walks and invigorating salt sea swimming.
It is not far to attractions such as the Vitlycke rock carvings and Nordens Ark. One of the best ways of discovering the Hamburgsund archipelago is by renting a kayak or taking the ferry to Sweden's most westerly group of islands, Väderöarna.
