The Forsbacka trail
Åmål
A nice bike ride on varying roads in miscellaneous scenic surroundings. Along the trail you will see open countryside, forests and there are several possibilities for pleasant stops on the way. Forsbacka Golf Club has both a restaurant and a lake were you can go for a swim.
From the starting point at the tourist office in Åmål, follow the bicycle road north along Karlstadsvägen towards Säffle. After about 4 km you leave the bicycle road and turn towards Segersbyn. Here, the trail continues on a hilly dirt road that wind through small woodlands and a more open farmland.
Go for a swim in Lake Nedre Kalven
After about 6 km, turn left to the road 2257 towards Svaneholm, and follow the road follow for about 500 m before turning left towards Persbyn and Sandviken. Now comes a 4 km long forest road that can be challenging on some sections - keep left at all crossroads. The road arrives at Lake Nedre Kalven and Sandviken's bathing spot.
Beware of golf balls!
From Sandviken, the trail continues on a gravel road along Lake Nedre Kalven towards Forsbacka Golf Club. After about 2.6 km you turn onto a smaller gravel road that emerges at hole 9 on the golf course. Beware of golf balls! At Forsbacka there is also a beach and a popular restaurant. From Forsbacka, the trail continues to the church in Mo where you follow road 2257, then take the bicycle road back towards Åmål.
